For All Mankind renewed for fourth season by Apple TV+

July 23, 2022 by Ricky Church

Apple TV+ has announced at the San Diego Comic-Con that its sci-fi series For All Mankind from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Battlestar Galactica’s Ronald D. Moore has been renewed for a fourth season.

The series follows an alternate history where the USSR beat America to the moon in the 1960s, launching a new era of the space race as the world set its sights on the next frontier: travelling to and making a home on Mars. It was created by Moore, Ben Nedivi and Matt Wolpert.

For All Mankind has taken viewers through the decades since the 60s with the current third season taking place in the mid-1990s. Season 4 will bring the show into the 21st century as it will take place in the early 2000s.

“I’m thrilled that we get to keep going forward in this amazing story,” Moore said to Deadline. “Right from the beginning it was my hope that it would be a long, multi-year journey. It’s gratifying to see what we’ve done and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do in the future.”

The series stars The Suicide Swuad’s Joel Kinnaman alongside Krys Marshall, Shantel VanSanten, Wrenn Schmidt, Edi Gathegi, Coral Peña, Jodi Balfour, Casey Johnson, Sonya Walger and Cynthy Wu, all of whom were in attendance at SDCC to discuss the third season and announce the renewal.

“I couldn’t be more excited to continue evolving our show into the 2000s in Season 4,” said Wolpert.

“The reaction to Season 3 so far has been incredible,” said Nedivi. “I’m thrilled Apple is giving us this opportunity to continue telling our story. Ron, Matt and I have always had a long-term plan for the show and the deeper we get into our alt history, the more the audience will start to see that vision come to life.”
