Free-to-play third person shooter Caliber to make its debut at Gamescom 2019

August 8, 2019 by Andrew Newton

1C Game Studios and Wargaming will be premiering their free-to-play third person shooter Caliber at Gamescom 2019.  This will be Wargaming’s first title for a mature audience and will focus on communication, coordination and tactics.

In Caliber, players join teams of four and can either take on AI controlled opponents in the Spec Ops PvE mode or take on the challenge against other player’s teams in PvP.  Each 4 player team will consist of different operators, including:

  • Assault – Good for short to medium distance and ideal for those with an aggressive playstyle.
  • Support – Heavy weapons user.
  • Medic – Supports allies in the way only a medic can.
  • Sniper – Ideal for long distances and perfect for those who like to make every shot count.

There will be a variety of national special forces, including Poland’s GROM, Navy SEALs and the Kommando Spezialkräfte to choose from and all uniforms, firearms etc. have been recreated in great detail.

“We’re extremely excited to be presenting Caliber in Europe for the first time, especially as it will be showcased on gaming’s biggest stage: gamescom,” states Alexander Zezyulin, Product Director. “And yes, when designing the game, we made sure it fits the Wargaming philosophy: it’s free-to-win and fair. Also, it’s important to note that Caliber isn’t a twitch-reaction shooter; only tactics will help you in this theater of war!”

If you’re heading to Gamescom 2019 be sure to check Caliber out, or for those not attending but want to know more, check out www.playcaliber.eu.
