THR is reporting that Disney’s hotly-anticipated animated sequel Frozen 2 has enlisted Oscar-nominated Hidden Figures screenwriter Allison Schroeder.
Schroeder, who recently penned Disney’s Christopher Robin, will reportedly work alongside primary writer Jennifer Lee on the script for the sequel, given that Lee now has additional responsibilities after being named head of Walt Disney Animation Studios following John Lasseter’s departure due to “missteps” in the workplace.
Details on Frozen 2 are being kept under wraps, but we do know that it will see the return of Kristen Bell (Anna), Idina Menzel (Elsa) and Josh Gad (Olaf), while Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld) and Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us) are new additions to the cast.
Frozen 2 reunites directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck with songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, and is set for release on November 27th 2019.
