Frozen becomes the highest-grossing animated movie of all time

March 30, 2014 by admin

Having opened in Japan this weekend, Disney Animation Studios’ smash hit Frozen has become the highest-grossing animated movie of all-time, surpassing the $1.063 of Disney-Pixar’s Toy Story 3 to take the crown with an astonishing $1.072 billion.

In reaching that figure, Frozen has also climbed to tenth in the list of the all-time highest-grossing films, knocking another Disney offering, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest down into 11th.

Based upon Hans Christian Anderson’s The Snow Queen, Frozen is directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, and features a voice cast that includes Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad, Ciaran Hinds, Alan Tudyk, Chris Williams, and Jack Whitehall.
