Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins clarify the Brett Ratner situation on Wonder Woman 2

November 15, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins have clarified the current Brett Ratner situation.

Like too many in Hollywood recently, director Brett Ratner has been revealed to be a bit of a creep, recently being accused of sexual misconduct by a handful of women.

As a result, Gadot, the star of Wonder Woman (which Ratner was a producer via his company RatPac-Dune Entertainment), has revealed that she wouldn’t sign up for the film’s sequel unless Ratner is shown the door.

Following the allegations, Warner Bros. immediately cut ties with the filmmaker, leaving the presumption that his company won’t have any involvement in Wonder Woman 2. This of course would seemingly make Gadot’s subsequent statement unnecessary.

During an interview with ET, both she and Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins helped clarify the situation.

Jenkins commented: “That whole thing happened weeks ago, so that actually had nothing to do with Gal. That was a foregone conclusion.”

Gadot once again stated her position: “There [has] been a lot written about how I feel and my views about this topic, and everyone knows how I feel about it. And the truth is, there [are] so many people involved in making this movie, and they all have echoed the same sentiment.”

Wonder Woman 2 is set for release on November 1st 2019.
