Gal Gadot in talks to play Hedy Lamarr in Showtime limited series

August 8, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot may be heading to the small screen, with Deadline reporting that she is close to finalising a deal to star as actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr in a limited series at Showtime.

According to the site, the project is being written by Sarah Treem, co-creator of The Affair, and is being produced by Warren Littlefield (The Handmaid’s Tale).

Born in Austria, Lamarr movied to Hollywood in the 1930s and starred in films such as Algiers, Boom Town, I Take This Woman, Comrade X, Come Live With Me and Samson and Delilah. She was also an inventor, teaming with composer George Antheil to develop a radio guidance system for Allied torpedoes during World War II, aspects of which have since been incorporated into Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology.

Gadot is currently reprising her DC Extended Universe role as Diana Prince in Wonder Woman 1984, which is set for release next year. She is also attached to star in the Dwayne Johnson heist thriller Red Notice, as well as producing the drama film My Dearest Fidel.
