Gal Gadot joins Kenneth Branagh’s Agatha Christie adaptation Death on the Nile

September 28, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot has become the first addition to the cast of Death on the Nile, 20th Century Fox’s follow-up to last year’s hit Agatha Christie adaptation Murder on the Orient Express, Deadline has revealed.

The new film, based on Christie’s 1937 novel, will see Kenneth Branagh back behind the camera, and he is also expected to reprise his role as master detective Hercule Poiroit, who finds himself investigating a murder on a luxurious Nile Cruise. However, as he closes in on the killer, several of his suspects meet their demise, deepening the mystery further. Gadot is set to portray Linnet Ridgeway Doyle, a rich heiress.

Gadot is currently shooting the DCEU sequel Wonder Woman 1984, and recently signed on to star alongside Dwayne Johnson in the action thriller Red Notice, as well as playing Hedy Lamarr in a limited series for Showtime. Next up however is Ralph Breaks the Internet, where she voices Shank, “a tough as nails street racer”.

Death on the Nile is set for release on December 20th 2019.
