Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke admits that filming Season 6 “almost killed” the cast

February 4, 2016 by Gavin Logan

It’s only a few months away until the premiere and rumours and spoilers have been readily dropping about Season 6 of HBO’s Game of Thrones. Most of the talk has been about the apparent death of a huge character. Hopefully we will find out for sure about the status of Jon Snow on April 24th 2016 but it’s the cast’s real life encounter with death that’s more alarming.

Speaking to E! News Live from the Red Carpet at the recent SAG Awards, Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen – or the Mother of Dragons as she has been more commonly known – admitted that filming Season 6 “almost killed” the cast:

“Every year, every single person in the cast is like, “It’s the biggest season ever” but legitimately this season almost killed us. It is epic, like it’s huge…it’s insane…it’s silly.”

Obviously it makes sense for the cast to sell us the upcoming season as much as they can and I’m sure she’s referring to the work load that almost killed them but from everything we’ve seen and heard so far, it does feel like this season will be on another level to the previous five. So expect bigger drama, bigger battles and probably a fair few more deaths.

Emilia also admits that she and co-star Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy) are the worst people to talk to on the red carpet because they always give away spoilers by accident.
