Variety is reporting that George Clooney and his Smokehouse Pictures producing partner Grant Heslov are in early development on a feature adaptation of Netflix’s documentary The White Helmets.
Directed by Orlando von Einsiedel, The White Helmets tells the story of the Syrian Civil Defense (a.k.a. the White Helmets), a volunteer organisation of first responders who have been credited with saving the lives of over 60,000 people in the war-torn country.
It is said that the adaptation is currently in the earliest stages of development, with Clooney and Heslov seeking a writer to pen the script.
