Get ready for some open world survival with Radiation City on the Nintendo Switch

June 14, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Developer Atypical Games has announced have released their open world survival title, Radiation City, on the Nintendo Switch.  Set 40 years after the accident at Chernobyl, the city of the Pripyat is a dark and mysterious shadow of the thriving soviet community.  Celebrating the release of this successor to their previous title, Radiation Island, is a new launch trailer that can be seen below…

In this eerie open world survival, players will travel to a carefully recreated city of Pripyat to uncover the fate of their character’s missing loved one.  As players try to untangle the dark mystery of the loved one they will explore actual historic landmarks, including Hotel Polissya, the cultural center and Cinema Prometheus, and encounter strange creatures, dangerous anomalies and harsh elements.

Radiation City features:

  • Revamped  graphics and visuals, including lighting, shading and building interiors.
  • Scavenge for resources and craft weapons and equipment to help survival.
  • New physics-based combat systems allow players to evade or slay hungry predators and subhuman creatures.
  • Switch players will experience a hardened world with bigger consequences, including checkpoint restarts instead of instant respawns.

Radiation City is available now on the Nintendo eShop.
