Go behind the scenes of Just Cause 4 with new series of ‘Making of’ videos

July 19, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Just Cause 4 was announced at this year’s E3 much to the excitement of fans who speculated what Rico would be doing, what would the cause be and what kind of world would he be fighting, flying and driving through.  Well, in order to provide more information on what to expect from the game developers Avalanche have released a series of 5 ‘Making of’ videos that highlight some of the new features to be found when the game is released this December.

In this first video the chaps at Avalanche talk about the new Apex Engine which enables them to create the most interactive, extreme weather simulations as well as offering unparalleled physics.  The Apex engine has been built from the ground up to bring gamers the most dynamic installment in the Just Cause franchise.

This video looks at the weather patterns that players will be facing.  Rico will have to survive not only the enemy but also the elements. Tornadoes, sandstorms and torrential rain all form part of the fun in Solis.

Rico’s hugely popular grapple hook is back and it has now been enhanced so that it doesn’t just provide the same explosive destruction that players have enjoyed but it also has new abilities and is fully customisable.

This video goes into more detail about Rico. In Just Cause 4 he faces a new challenge after leaving the agency.

The world of Just Cause 4 is the fictional country of Solis.  In this video the development team talk about the country’s design from its colonial style beginnings to its contemporary buildings.

Just Cause 4 arrives this December bringing Rico Rodriguez with his iconic wingsuit and grapplehook and more destruction than you can shake a stick at.
