God of War gets a new trailer and release date

January 23, 2018 by Andrew Newton

An older, wiser and less angry Kratos will be arriving on Playstation 4 in just a few short months time as Sony announce the next installment in the beloved God of War franchise will be available on the 20th April.  God of War will be one of the biggest exclusives coming to the PS4 this year and if the accompanying story trailer is anything to go by it will be a very beautiful game indeed.  Watch this new trailer below…

God of War’s release date was announced on the PlayStation Blog by Cory Barlog who stated that “First, let me say that this is my favorite release day of my entire career. If I live to be 100, I do not think I will be able to top this release day.”  A statement that certainly builds up the excitement.

Unlike the previous games in the franchise, God of War takes Kratos away from the familiar confines of Greek mythology and sets him out on a new adventure into the brutal world of Norse myth and legend.  Accompanied by his son Atreus the pair will venture into these wild lands to fight a new quest.

Also in the Playstation Blog Cory Barlog mentions a couple of special editions including a collector’s edition that includes a 9-inch statue of Kratos and Atreus and a SteelBook case; and the Stone Mason edition which includes the statue and much more.

God of War will be available for the PS4 on the 20th April.
