Gotham season 5 gets a trailer, Bane, Harley Quinn and a ten year time-jump

October 7, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

During its panel at New York Comic Con, a sizzle reel was released for Gotham which features some footage from the upcoming fifth and final season of the Batman prequel series; watch it here…

Meanwhile, during the panel at NYCC, showrunner John Stephens confirmed that Shane West (Nikita) is set to portray the character of Bane, whose backstory will be revised to connect to Ben McKenzie’s Jim Gordon. It was also revealed that one of Bane’s first encounters in the show will be with Sean Pertwee’s Alfred Pennyworth, and that it’s not going to go too well for Bruce Wayne’s (David Mazouz) trusty butler (and may even end with Alfred suffering a broken back).

Stephens went on to tease the introduction of Harley Quinn, stating that The Joker (Cameron Monaghan) “has a somewhat deranged girlfriend, who dresses in a multi-colored fashion. I wouldn’t describe it as a healthy relationship … she likes roller skates.”

And, perhaps most intriguingly of all, Stephens closed the panel by all but confirming a Batman appearance, stating that: “The series finale takes place ten years in the future.”
