Guardians of the Galaxy’s Pom Klementieff joins Uncut Gems

October 28, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War star Pom Klementieff has signed on to star alongside Adam Sandler in Uncut Gems, the new film from Benny and Josh Safdie, directors of 2017’s acclaimed crime film Good Time.

Uncut Gems has been written by the Safdie brothers and their Good Time collaborator Ronald Bronstein, and is set to see Sandler playing a jewellery store owner and dealer whose life is turned upside down when his merchandise is stolen.

Joining Sandler and Klementieff in the cast of the film are Lakeith Stanfield (Sorry to Bother You), Idina Menzel (Frozen) and Judd Hirsch (Taxi), while Martin Scorsese (Goodfellas) is serving as executive producer.

Klementieff is expected to reprise her Marvel role as Mantis in next year’s as-yet-untitled Avengers 4, as well as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, although the latter is on hold following Disney’s firing of writer-director James Gunn.
