Guillermo del Toro on Pacific Rim 2: “it’s not gone”

September 18, 2015 by admin

Despite the rumours abound that Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures were planning a Shared Kaiju Universe with King Kong, Godzilla and Pacific Rim, fans of the monster v robots film were disappointed when it was announced Pacific Rim 2 was on indefinite hold. One person still holding out hope, however, is director Guillermo del Toro.

“We are still turning in a screenplay and a budget in three weeks,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “As far as I’m concerned, it’s not gone. We’re still on it. It moved further.”

However, del Toro notes that he could direct another movie while he waits for progress to be made on Pacific Rim 2.
