Hans Zimmer teases Dark Knight return for Batman vs. Superman

September 3, 2013 by admin

Having provided the score for The Dark Knight trilogy and Man of Steel, Hans Zimmer certainly knows a thing or two about putting together a musical accompaniment for DC’s two biggest characters, but with Warner Bros. set to bring the two icons together for 2015’s Batman vs. Superman, will the Oscar-winning composer be back to score director Zack Snyder’s eagerly-anticipated superhero showdown?

“This is really complicated for me,” Zimmer told Red Carpet News at the UK premiere of Ron Howard’s Rush. “We all went, ‘Okay, we’re done with Batman’ and now it’s sort of getting smuggled back in. I have to have a think about that one. I might give you a new Batman if I do it.”

Meanwhile, Zimmer also shared his thoughts on the casting of Ben Affleck as Christian Bale’s successor under the cape and cowl: “I actually think it’s a really good choice because he’s a great filmmaker, he’s smart – he wouldn’t have taken it if he [was] setting himself up for a fall. He’s a bit older these days and that’s what we need. And he’s got a good chin.”

So, would you like to hear another take on Batman from Zimmer? And is Affleck’s chin going to be enough to see him through? Let us know in the comments below…
