Harrison Ford signs deal with Lucasfilm for Star Wars sequels and Indiana Jones 5?

October 27, 2013 by admin

Since it was first announced that Disney and Lucasfilm were to deliver a brand new Star Wars sequel trilogy, there’s been plenty of speculation that Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Harrison Ford (Han Solo) would return for another adventure in a galaxy far, far away in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII.

We’ve already heard rumours that Ford had agreed a deal to return, and now JediNews are claiming that the Ender’s Game star has finally reached a deal to appear in Episode VII, with Lucasfilm apparently settling financial terms, as well as providing Ford with a synopsis for his character’s development over Episodes VII, VIII and IX, and giving him a commitment to develop an outline for Indiana Jones V by the end of next year, with a view to releasing the movie in 2016.

At this point in the development of Star Wars: Episode VII, it’s virtually impossible to tell which, if any, of the countless rumours circulating Disney and Lucasfilm’s hotly-anticipated sequel have any basis in reality, but regardless of the authenticity of this report, it seems pretty safe to assume that Ford will be back as Han Solo in Episode VII and its sequels, assuming the character survives of course. However, with Lucasfilm releasing the first crew details for Episode VII just last week, hopefully we won’t have much more of a wait before we get some official casing news.
