Harrison Ford thinks he will return as Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII

March 19, 2013 by admin

Last month it was reported that Harrison Ford had officially signed on to reprise the role of the smuggler turned Rebel hero Han Solo in Disney’s upcoming Star Wars sequel trilogy. However, since then we’ve heard plenty of talk suggesting the studio is yet to finalise a deal with Ford, or his Star Wars co-stars Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.

Well, Ford has now broken his silence on the matter, confirming that he is indeed open to returning to his breakthrough role for J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII. “I think it’s almost true,” the actor told WGN, when asked if Hamill, Fisher and himself were heading back to the galaxy far, far away. “I’m looking forward to it. It’s not in the bag yet, but I think it’ll happen, and I’m delighted.”

So that seems pretty conclusive to me, and with Disney looking towards a 2015 release date for Episode VII, we should probably expect to hear some official casting news in the very near future – presumably, once Abrams finishes up promotional duties on Star Trek Into Darkness.
