The Hayao Miyazaki Collection hitting Blu-ray in December

November 11, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Coming hot on the heels of his honorary Academy Award – and the news that he’s still set to produce animated shorts – Studiocanal has announced that The Hayao Miyazaki Collection will arrive on Blu-ray just in time for Christmas, hitting shelves on December 8th in the UK.

The set marks the first time that Studio Ghibli have allowed their films to be releasing in this way, and brings together all 11 of Miyazaki’s directed feature films from The Castle of Cagliostro through to The Wind Rises.

Also included in the collection is the full 90 minute press conference of Miyazaki announcing his retirement and reflecting on his career, along with a specially commissioned exclusive booklet featuring analysis, essays and commentary as well as contributions from the anime legend himself.
