Hayley Atwell confirmed to return as Agent Carter in Ant-Man

November 3, 2014 by James Garcia

Back in August we heard that Hayley Atwell is set to reprise her role as Agent Peggy Carter in Marvel’s Ant-Man, and now it’s been made official. Well, more official.

According to ProjectCasting.com, the film is currently seeking an actor to serve as a stand-in for Atwell on Ant-Man. This will mark Atwell’s seventh appearance in the MCU, following roles in Captain America: The First Avenger, her own Marvel One-Shot short film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the season two opener of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and upcoming roles in both Avengers: Age of Ultron and her own Agent Carter series beginning in January 2015.

I honestly never thought we’d see this much of Atwell in the MCU, and was afraid that she’d virtually disappear from the films after the events of The First Avenger. Luckily for us, that’s not the case, and she’s now set to appear in more Marvel projects than even Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury. Now that’s impressive!

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll and Michael Pena. The film hits theaters on July 17, 2015.
