Henry Cavill has taken to social media to share a first-look image and behind the scenes photo from Highlander, director Chad Stahelski’s (John Wick) reboot of the 1986 cult classic action fantasy, which sees the former Justice League and The Witcher star following in the footsteps of Christopher Lambert as the immortal warrior Connor MacLeod.
Production on the remake is now underway in Scotland, having been delayed since September due to an injury sustained by Cavill during rehearsals for the film, which is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios under its United Artists banner.
Cavill is joined in the cast of Highlander by Russell Crowe as Juan Sanchez-Willalobos Ramirez, Dave Bautista as The Kurgan, Karen Gillan as Heather MacLeod, Drew McIntyre as Angus MacLeod, Djimon Hounsou as Sunda Kastigir, Jeremy Irons as the leader of a group known as The Watchers, and Marisa Abela, Max Zhang, Siobhan Cullen, Jeon Jong-seo, Nassim Lyes and Kevin McKidd in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
