Disney has announced that Hocus Pocus 2, “the spooky sequel to the 1993 Halloween classic,” will arrive on the Disney+ streaming service on September 30th, 2022.

Hocus Pocus 2, which is directed by Anne Fletcher (The Proposal), will see Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy all returning as the Sanderson Sisters alongside a returning Doug Jones as Billy Butcherson. Thora Birch, who played the young Dani Dennison, will not be appearing in the film due to scheduling conflicts.

Joining the cast includes Whitney Peak (Gossip Girl), Lilia Buckingham (Dirt) and Belissa Escobedo (American Horror Stories) who will play Becca, Cassie and Izzy, three young women in present-day Salem who incite the wrath of the three witches. Tony Hale (Arrested Development), Sam Richardson (Veep), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), Juju Brenner (Vanquish), Froy Gutierrez (Cruel Summer), Taylor Henderson (Earwig and the Witch) and Nina Kitchen will also star.

The official synposis for the film reads: “It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters who were executed for practicing witchcraft, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high-school students to figure out how to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before midnight on All Hallow’s Eve.”
