Holiday Ops 2026 starts the festivities with Benedict Cumberbatch in World of Tanks

December 6, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Holiday Ops 2026 for World of Tanks is now underway, and until 12th January, players will have the company of world-famous actor Benedict Cumberbatch as the game’s holiday ambassador. This festive period will bring gifts, surprises, plenty of assignments, and Cumberbatch’s intelligence and subtle humour.

This event brings a beautiful Christmas village where players can see attractive snowy scenes by day and enjoy fairy lights and warm lanterns by night. When first entering the village, players will receive their first special holiday gift: Strv M/31, a Tier III Swedish light tank complete with a fully trained crew and garage slot. The holiday village is also home to the Advent Calendar, where each door will bring new gifts and surprises.

The Village Headquarters will be home to Holiday Ambassador, Benedict Cumberbatch, where he will give players special assignments, offer little bits of life wisdom and share inspiring stories. Those who complete his special assignments will be rewarded with his signature customisation items, including two distinctive 2D styles, custom decals, and thematic inscriptions.

However, the centrepiece of this year’s event is the Holiday Ops Challenge. This huge 56 battle challenge will allow players to earn great in-game rewards, including Tank Commander Benedict Cumberbatch, the calm tactician with a guiding voice. Players will also be able to earn unique decals and inscriptions reflecting, the striking “Resolute” 2D style with a military-inspired look, and Benedict’s Gadgets, a set of collectable 3D attachments.

From 11th to 22nd December, the magic tanks make a return for fast-paced fun in the Winter Raid game mode. This year’s raid brings two new maps, with one taking players into space with stars and planets, while the other turns a present factory into an entertaining combat arena. Each Winter Raid will have three teams of five players competing to collect and deliver presents to their base. Each commander will have a unique tank with its own role and abilities, and all players will be able to earn points that can be redeemed for bonds or exclusive 3D attachments.

Join the Holiday Ops 2026 event and enjoy the excitement, surprises, and charm of Benedict Cumberbatch.
