Italia Ricci to play Silver Banshee in Supergirl

CBS has announced that Italia Ricci (Chasing Life) has signed on to the cast of Supergirl in the role of Siobhan Smythe, a.k.a. the DC villain Silver Banshee.

“We are so excited to be working with Italia,” stated executive producer Andrew Kreisberg. “We’ve been a fan of her work for years and we cannot wait to see her take on this iconic comic book role.”

The official character description reads: “Siobhan Smythe, Cat Grant’s latest hire who at first becomes a work nemesis for Kara. But she later proves a more deadly foe for Supergirl when she takes on the mantle of DC Comics villain, Silver Banshee.

Created by John Byrne, Silver Banshee made her debut in Action Comics #595 in 1987. She will make her first appearance in the 14th episode of Supergirl.
