Jack Bauer fans rejoice! After talk this past weekend that the hit real-time drama series 24 could be set for a return to TV screens, Fox has now confirmed that Kiefer Sutherland has signed on to reprise the role for a new 12-episode series entitled 24: Live Another Day.
“The response to 24 is unlike anything I have ever experienced as an actor before,” said Sutherland as part of today’s official announcement. “To have the chance to reunite with the character, Jack Bauer, is like finding a lost friend. 24: Live Another Day is set to air in 2014, with Brian Grazer serving as executive producer alongside Kiefer Sutherland and Howard Gordon. The new incarnation of the award-winning series will see a change of format to accommodate the shorter season, with a full 24 hours condensed across the 12 episodes.
