Jack Black and Tim Robbins sign on for HBO comedy The Brink

November 16, 2013 by admin

HBO sure is busy these days, and the cable network has just signed Jack Black and Tim Robbins to co-star and produce a pilot for a black comedy TV series called The Brink, according to Variety.

The show will be a dark comedy that focuses on the ways in which a geopolitical crisis affects three different men in varying degrees.  Black will play Alex Coppins, a Foreign Service officer who will be on the ground during the crisis, while Robbins will be playing Walter Hollander,  a short-fused U.S. Secretary of State who tolerates little from those calling shots in the White House Situation Room.  The pilot is being written by Roberto and Kim Benabib.  Roberto Benabib wrote and produced episodes of both Weeds and Ally McBeal.

This certainly sounds interesting and looks like it could be a perfect fit for Black, who we haven’t seen in many high profile projects for a while. Will you be tuning in? Let us know….
