Jake Gyllenhaal injured on set of Nightcrawler

November 16, 2013 by admin

Jake Gyllenhaal needed stitches after shooting an intense scene for his new film, Nightcrawler.

Gyllenhaal’s spokeswoman says the 32-year-old actor returned to work Thursday for a final day of filming after a few hours in the emergency room. Mara Buxbaum said Gyllenhaal was in character Wednesday when he hit a mirror which broke and cut his hand, which was “badly cut up” and required “numerous stitches”.

Nightcrawler is a crime drama which sees Gyllenhaal joined by Rene Russo (Thor: The Dark World) and Bill Paxton (Hatfields & McCoys).  Gyllenhaal is said to have lost about 20 pounds for his role as a crime-scene reporter in the film, which is set to be released 2014.

Jake Gyllenhaal is just coming off Prisoners, another crime drama, so I’m really excited for this one. What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments….
