James D’Arcy joins Marvel’s Agent Carter as Jarvis

September 17, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Marvel’s upcoming TV series Agent Carter has added another member to its cast, with Variety revealing that British actor James D’Arcy (Cloud Atlas, Let’s Be Cops) has signed on to play Howard Stark’s butler, who is presumably the original Jarvis that we’ve heard would feature in the series.

The Marvel One-Shot spin-off will see Hayley Atwell reprising her role as the wartime heroine Peggy Carter, while the cast is also set to include Enver Gjokaj (Dollhouse) as Agent Daniel Sousa and Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill) as Agent Jack Thompson. Although no official word has been forthcoming, it’s also expected that Dominic Cooper will return as Howard Stark, while there’s surely a good chance we’ll be seeing more of the Howling Commandos, especially as Neal McDonough (Dum Dum Dugan) and Kenneth Choi (Jim Morita) will appear alongside Atwell in the season two premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Agent Carter is set to get underway in January 2015, during the midseason break of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
