James Marsden on Tye Sheridan playing young Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse

January 24, 2015 by Thomas Roach

A few days ago Bryan Singer announced who would play the younger versions of Jean Grey, Storm and Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse., with Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones), Alexandra Shipp (House of Anubis) and Tye Sheridan signing on to the 2016 film.

Now James Marsden has shared his thoughts on Tye Sheridan playing Cyclops – the role he portrayed in the original X-Men films as well as a brief cameo in X-Men: Days of Future Past – telling HitFix “I think he’s a wonderfully talented actor who blew me away in Mud, I’ve never seen a kid that young be that present and that powerful. So, I think he’s a perfect fit and I congratulate him.”

X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release May 19th, 2016 with James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast) and Evan Peters (Quicksilver) all returning from X-Men: Days of Future Past and Oscar Isaac (A Most Violent Year) set to play Apocalypse.
