Fifty Shades of Grey and The Fall star Jamie Dornan has signed on to star alongside Alec Baldwin and Christian Slater in Dr. Death, a new limited drama TV series from Universal Content Productions, which is based upon the Wondery podcast of the same name.
The series will see Dornan as Dr. Christopher Duntsch, a young, charismatic and brilliant doctor in the Dallas medical community, who was building up a flourishing neurosurgery practice before patients entering his operating room for routine surgeries started ending up permanently maimed or dead.
Baldwin and Slater will play Robert Henderson and Randall Kirby, two surgeons who begin to suspect foul play and set out to stop Duntsch with th ehelp of a young Assistant District Attorney.
UCP has already scored success with its previous podcast adaptations Homecoming and Dirty John, which were sold to Amazon and Bravo respectively. The company is now shopping Dr. Death to potential networks and streaming platforms, and the project is expected to draw significant interest from outlets.
