Jason Blum offers updates on Paranormal Activity 5, The Purge 2, Sinister 2 and Insidious 3

March 12, 2014 by admin

While endorsing Oculus and Creep at SXSW in Austin, Texas, producer Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions has offered updates on the progress of Paranormal Activity 5, The Purge: Anarchy, Sinister 2 and Insidious 3 during an interview with Shock Till You Drop.

On Paranormal Activity 5 and The Purge: Anarchy: “We’re excited to get [Paranormal Activity] 5 out. The Marked Ones did much better internationally than it did domestic. We’re still futzing a lot with 5. Toying around with that is always fun. I’m very excited about the sequel to The Purge. I see a cut of it next week and (director) James DeMonaco is really excited. I’m looking forward to extending the story, it’s such a great concept.”

On Sinister 2 and Insidious 3: “Sinister 2 is coming along great. The script is done. We’re hoping to shoot this summer. It’s got a great script. Cargill and Derrickson did a great job writing it. If you love the tone of the first film, you’ll love this. Plus it’s got a lot of new stuff in it. The script is also done [on Insidious 3]. We’re hoping to shoot that this summer too.”

Are you looking forward to these sequels or are you tired of the low-budget horror pumped out by Blumhouse Productions? Let us know your thoughts…
