It’s been nearly twenty years since the original was released, but after lingering in development hell the Farrelly Brothers are returning to their popular characters Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne with Dumber and Dumber To.
Development has been up and down, with Jim Carrey in particular speaking about his frustration with it all. But Universal have now picked up the rights, and both Carrey and Jeff Daniels are slated to return.
Daniels spoke to Jimmy Fallon on his ‘Late Night with…’ show and had a bit to say about the sequel, which is on track for a summer 2014 release…
“I’ve seen the script. It’s hysterical. We’re middle-aged, we’re not pretending we aren’t. We’re middle-aged and we’re still that stupid.”
Filming on Dumb and Dumber To is due to begin in September.
