John Krasinski returns as Jack Ryan in first-look image from feature film

February 20, 2025 by Ricky Church

The first official photo of Amazon MGM’s Jack Ryan feature film has been released, featuring John Krasinski as he returns to the role after starring for four seasons in the series.

The photo sees Ryan equipped with a weapon and kit during some type of undercover mission in Dubai. Krasinski shared the image on Instagram, saying “So. Good. To be. Back! #JackRyanMovie is off and running!!! HUGE thank you to all the inCREDible folks here in Dubai for letting us kickoff in epic fashion in your beautiful city! Here we go!!”

The series and film are based on Tom Clancy’s political and espionage thriller novels which often focused on CIA analyst Jack Ryan, who has previously been played in film adaptations by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine. Amazon’s series followed Krasinski’s Ryan who had to stop various threats to the nation or uncover conspiracies within the US government. Throughout its four season run, Jack Ryan was one of Prime’s most streamed shows worldwide.

Andrew Bernstein, the executive producer and director of season two, is directing the feature. Aaron Rabin, who served as a co-executive producer and writer on season four, penned the script. Paramount Pictures and Skydance are producing. Krasinski is also producing under his production banner Sunday Night with Allyson Seeger.
