With John Wick and John Wick: Chapter 2 director Chad Stahelski currently gearing up to shoot the third instalment of the Keanu Reeves action series, Deadline is reporting that Studio 8 is lining up the filmmaker to helm another potential franchise.
According to the site, Stahelski has been tapped to direct Sandman Slim, based upon the nine-book fantasy series by bestselling author Richard Kadrey. The series revolves around James ‘Sandman Slim’ Stark, “a fast-talking, hard-boiled, supernatural vigilante who escapes from Hell to avenge his girlfriend’s murder and hunt down the magicians responsible for getting him sent ‘downtown’.”
In addition to John Wick: Chapter 3, Stahelski is attached to the long-gestating Highlander reboot and the comic book adaptation Kill or Be Killed, while he is also executive producing the John Wick spinoff TV series The Continental, which is in development for Starz.
