Jojo Rabbit’s Archie Yates will lead Home Alone reboot alongside Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney

December 11, 2019 by Liam Waddington

In a recent report by Variety, it has been revealed that the upcoming Disney+ Home Alone reboot will feature Jojo Rabbit star Archie Yates as the film’s protagonist alongside Ellie Kemper (The Office) and Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2) will portray his parents.

According to the report, Yates will not be playing Kevin McCallister, but a new character in a similar premise to the original franchise while Kemper and Delaney are possibly playing another couple not related to Yates.

The reboot is set to be directed Dan Mazer (Dirty Grandpa) from a script by Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell. The movie is being produced by Hutch Parker and Dan Wilson and will be the first project to be produced under the Twentieth Century Fox banner for the Disney+ streaming service. There is no current release date as of yet.

The original 1990 film follows Kevin, played by Macaulay Culkin, who is accidentally left behind while his family heads to Paris over the holidays. During that time, he must protect his house from a pair of burglars, played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern.
