Justice League’s Connie Nielsen asked for cut Amazon stunt scene to be restored by Zack Snyder

January 1, 2021 by Samuel Brace

Connie Nielsen, one of the stars of Justice League, asked Zack Snyder to restore her stunt from the Amazon chapter for his new cut of the movie.

Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League is going to be crammed full of never before seen content and this includes scenes from the Amazon chapter. Connie Nielsen, who plays Queen Hippolyta in the film, had requested that the sequence be brought back to what Snyder had originally intended before she gave her blessing for the new cut.

Speaking to THR, Nielsen recalled her conversation with Snyder and how she asked for a deleted stunt she performed to be put back in the movie: “Zack had already called me to ask if I would be okay with a reissue of the film with changes. And I asked him, ‘Well, will you bring back the Amazon chapter the way you had written it and had filmed it?’ And he said, ‘Absolutely.’ And then I said, ‘And Zack, will you also bring back my quite incredible stunt, running up the walls?’ And he said, ‘You got it.’ So I said, ‘Yeah, definitely. You’ve got my blessing. Absolutely.’ What was really sad was how much stuff we filmed that wasn’t in the film. And I think that’s part of what made [the theatrical] Justice League less cohesive as a viewing experience. The intent was not the same during the editing as it was during shooting.”

With all that is being restored to Justice League and all the criticism leveled at the theatrical version from those involved, it certainly sounds like Snyder’s new cut will make quite a difference to how the movie is viewed. Hopefully, it can live up to the expectations.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes-Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and The Flash-it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder and features Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard as Mera, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf, Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke, Jared Leto as The Joker and Ray Porter as Darkseid.
