Justice League edges out Batman v Superman on Metacritic

November 15, 2017 by Samuel Brace

The reviews for Justice League are in and the news is mixed, with the film currently sitting at an uninspiring 51 on Metacritic.

This score on the film review aggregator, displaying scores out of 100 for all the latest releases in film and TV, puts Justice League just ahead of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (44) at this stage.

So far there have been 31 reviews compiled by Metacritic for Justice League, and by comparison, BvS’s score was generated by 51 reviews. So there is still room for change for the latest DCEU effort, but the bad news is that these scores tend to go down rather than up as new reviews come in.

The general feeling seems to be that Justice League is an improvement on the likes of BvS and Suicide Squad (40 on metacritic) but a letdown following the very popular Wonder Woman (76).

Another metric which many fans gauge a film’s worth by is of course Rotten Tomatoes, who have rather ominously delayed their score for the film.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League will reunite Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta and Robin Wright as General Antiope alongside J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) as Mera, Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man) as Vulko, Kiersey Clemons (Dope) as Iris West and Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Steppenwolf.
