Justice League reshoots are maintaining Zack Snyder’s vision, according to recent reports

August 28, 2017 by Jordan Jones

Ever since Joss Whedon took over directing duties for Justice League, and has oversaw “extensive” reshoots, many fans have been wondering just what will end up on screen? So many rumors abound. Is the movie a mess? Has Joss Whedon simply retouched the film, or has he made major changes? Recent rumors have said the film is nigh unwatchable, and that Whedon has actually changed the ending. Even more recent rumors say that Zack Snyder is coming back aboard to help finish the film. It’s a confusing, and contradictory flurry of rumors out there, folks.

Well, we can add another piece of info to that mix: the film is reportedly is still, according to sources, one-hundred percent Zack Snyder’s vision, according to Mark Hughes over at Superhero News. On a recent episode of The Superhero News Podcast, this is what he had to say regarding the Justice League reshoots:

“As of right now, despite the fact that there’s been some extended time and it’s like ‘ok, if this is still – why are they still doing shoots on this,’ there’s been a lot of downtime in between shooting because of people’s schedules – they have not been shooting this entire time. The amount of content that has been shot and is being shot is still pretty much what they expected and figured was going to be happening. They haven’t said ‘oh, we need to add additional – we need to do a whole bunch more,’ or anything like that at this point, so, the footage and the amount of footage in the film, as of right now, the majority of the footage that you’re going to see on the screen is still the footage that was previously shot during principal photography… I know I’ve seen people worried and say ‘why is it taking so long,’ it’s because this is post – this is reshooting and filming that requires people’s schedules to line up, getting things in order, so it has not been as easy as they expected it to be when this was all being planned months ago.”

It would be helpful  if Zack Snyder, or Joss Whedon themselves could go on record and clarify things regarding the Justice League reshoots. Warner Bros. has left too much of this process in the dark, and that has made way for all kinds of online rumors. Honestly, most of these rumors probably aren’t true. The truth is likely as banal as the information above suggests.

But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
