Keanu Reeves returning for John Wick: Chapter 4 in 2021

May 21, 2019 by Gary Collinson

After setting a franchise best opening at the global box office this past weekend with the release of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Lionsgate has wasted little time in announcing another outing for Keanu Reeves’ former hitman.

As reported by Variety, Lionsgate sent a text message to fans on Monday which read: “You have served. You will be of service. John Wick: Chapter 4 is coming – May 21, 2021.” As yet, there are no further details, but it seems safe to assume that the fourth movie will reunite Reeves with director Chad Stahelski and writer Derek Kolstad.

The John Wick franchise seems to be going from strength to strength, with Parabellum proving a smash hit with fans and critics alike, and outperforming the combined opening weekends of the first two instalments at the North American box office, where it dethroned Avengers: Endgame this past weekend.

In addition to John Wick: Chapter 4, a small screen spinoff entitled The Continental is in development at Starz, although there’s been no word yet as to when we might expect it to premiere.
