Kevin Feige confirms that Natalie Portman won’t appear in Thor: Ragnarok

May 14, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Back in April it was announced that Tessa Thompson (Creed) had joined the cast of Thor: Ragnarok, with reports suggesting that Natalie Portman would not be returning as Dr. Jane Foster for the God of Thunder’s third solo outing.

Well, Marvel chief Kevin Feige has now confirmed Portman’s absence to Empire, stating that: “[There are] many reasons.  Many of which are in the film so you will see that. There are only a couple of scenes on Earth in this movie. 80 to 90 percent takes place in the cosmos.”

Are you disappointed that we won’t be seeing Natalie Portman in Thor: Ragnarok? Let us know in the comments below…

Thor: Ragnarok is set for release on November 3rd 2017 and sees Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows) directing a cast that so far includes Marvel veterans Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif), along with Cate Blanchett (Carol) and Tessa Thompson (Creed).
