Kevin Feige says Spider-Man in Avengers 4 is “as far as it goes for now”

April 19, 2017 by Ricky Church

When Marvel and Sony made a deal for Spider-Man to be used in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a dream come true for fans, many wondered what exactly the specifics of the deal were and how long it might last. Last month we heard that Sony were looking to end their deal after Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 to build on their own Spider-Verse, although Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has now confirmed Spidey will appear in The Russo Brothers’ yet-to-be-titled Avengers 4, but won’t open up about anything after that.

“That’s as far as it goes for now,” Feige told The Hollywood Reporter, when asked about Holland’s status in the MCU after Avengers 4.

By the time 2019 rolls around, Holland will have starred as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers 4 and Spider-Man 2. From there, he could potentially move over to Sony’ Spider-Verse, although the actor himself is unsure about that. Feige was also asked about Sony’s plans for Venom and a Black Cat/Silver Sable film, but he said he and Marvel don’t have anything to do with them and are focusing purely on Spider-Man. “We had a very particular plan about Spidey himself,” Feige said, though he declined to elaborate any further.

Are you excited to see Spider-Man in Avengers 4 and do you hope Marvel and Sony can work together to make more films in the future? Let us know below…
