Key & Peele team up with Judd Apatow for new comedy movie

November 16, 2013 by admin

Universal Pictures has made a deal with Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele and Judd Apatow to write an as-yet-untitled comedy.

Key and Peele have been around for years, starting off on MadTV and getting their own show called Key & Peele, which has just been picked up for a fourth season. They both had minor roles in the Judd Apatow produced comedy Wanderlust. Apatow will produce for Apatow Productions, and Key and Peele will be executive producers.  Apatow has remained tight-lipped about the details of the project but had this to say about Key and Peele:

“I love these guys because they are riotously, make you sick because you can’t stop laughing , funny… I think Key and Peele are capable of making the movie that America desperately needs right now.”

If you haven’t seen Key & Peele it’s a pretty good show having a good balance of low brow and social commentary. Let’s just say they’d make Dave Chappelle proud.  Them teaming up with Apatow makes so much sense since he’s made a career of taking young actor/writers and turning them into big names which I think Key and Peele are ready for.

Are you enthusiastic about this deal or should these guys just stick to television?
