Kristen Stewart on 2019’s Charlie’s Angels: “I hated making that movie”

January 13, 2024 by EJ Moreno

You aren’t alone if you hated Charlie’s Angels in 2019 and preferred the 00s movies.

Star Kristen Stewart is speaking up about her time with the reboot and doesn’t have much to say. Talking to Variety, Stewart played the game “Know Their Lines,” where she must look back at her films.

During the segment, Stewart was reminded of her opening line from the film: “Did you know that it takes men an additional seven seconds to perceive a woman as a threat compared to a man?”

“This was a mouthful at the time,” she recalls. “I remember saying that. That was from a little film called Charlie’s Angels. We wanted a strong opener, you know? We wanted to really like broadcast what the movie was about. It was a good idea at the time. I hated making that movie. I don’t know what else to say to you.

She praises the original set of films, saying, “Honestly, the three…you can’t touch [that]. Cameron, Lucy, and Drew…I love that movie. I love that movie! If that says anything.”

As one of the crimefighters, Stewart starred alongside fellow Angels Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska and their leader, played by Elizabeth Banks. The 2019 reboot made just $73 million at the worldwide box office. The film sits at 52% on Rotten Tomatoes but does have a surprisingly high audience score of 78%.
