Latest trailer for Nightmarchers introduces the demi-god Māui

January 28, 2018 by Andrew Newton

It’s time to meet another ancient Hawaiian god for the open world, post apocalyptic RPG shooter, Nightmarchers, as Wyrmbyte Studios introduce us to Māui in a brand new video.  Helping Māui will give great rewards to players in their efforts to defeat the Kamapua’a.  You can learn more about Māui in the trailer below…

Māui was born into the world as a brightly coloured Moa bird and his heroic exploits are legendary and include pulling up islands from the ocean depths, snaring the sun and lifting the sky into its present position.  He is often referred to as being the Hercules of Polynesia due to his great feats.

In Nightmarchers Māui is outraged at the Kamapua’a’s corruption of his beloved lands and has returned to help Kai.  Once players have restored Māui’s honour and rebuilt his Heiau he will give Kai the ability to become a bird and soar through the sky, a definite advantage when it comes to scouting out targets.

Set in the post apocalyptic paradise of the Hawaiian island Oahu, Nightmarchers will see players use the ancient magic of the gods to defeat the corruption of Kamapua’a.  As players explore the island they will come across other factions and not all of them friendly.  The most dangerous faction is the Pig God’s raiders and it is up to the player to clear these particular occupants off the island using the powers of the spirit world or good old fashioned guns.
