The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is coming to the 3DS

November 9, 2014 by Tom Powter

After what feels like years of speculation, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is finally coming to the Nintendo 3DS in the form of a remake.

Revealed during the Nintendo Direct recently, Majora’s Mask looks to completely remaster the classic Nintendo 64 title, where the player must fight against a 3-day time limit to save the world of Termina.

The game is well-known for having a creepier tone than most Zelda games and Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo, spoke about maintaining the feel of the original game: “This dark departure from the Zelda formula must have left some intense and scary memories in player’s minds,” he said. “As we worked on the remade version, we set out to maintain the original level of challenge while keeping the game accessible for anyone.”

Majora’s Mask was originally released in 2000 on the Nintendo 64 and was the first game directed by Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma.

Majora’s Mask is coming Spring 2015.
