Back in 1982, Kevin Toms developed a game for 8-bit computers that was to create a whole new genre: Football Manager. Today, the godfather of football management games, along with Curveball Games, has announced that a remastered version will arrive on Steam on 14th August under the name Kevin Toms Football Star Manager. A new trailer can be seen below…
Kevin Toms Football Star Manager does away with all the complications of current management games and takes players back to a time when such games were fast, enjoyable, addictive, and easy to pick up. As the new trailer says, it’s time to head back to simpler times, when there was no need for excessive hardware or time.
Players will be able to customise their team, edit the kits, and even retitle players. There’s even the opportunity to take out loans, and manage morale boosts, all with text and graphics that are reminiscent of the original 8-bit title.
The game will feature classic simplicity, where players will manage their team across four divisions (like the UK had once upon a time), with opportunities for promotion, relegation, and a selection of cup tournaments. Players will have the chance to take part in the transfer market, tactical decisions, as well as club finances. All of which are in an easy-to-learn style.
