Lindsay Lohan plans to “harass her agent” for Ariel role in Disney’s The Little Mermaid

January 13, 2019 by Gary Collinson

With The Walt Disney Company yet to cast the title role for The Little Mermaid, actress Lindsay Lohan has once again thrown her hat into the ring to play Ariel in the live-action remake.

Speaking to Variety, the Mean Girls star stated that the 1989 animated classic is her favourite movie, adding that: “Whenever I put that move on, it makes me happy. I’m like, ‘Everybody, stop. Watch this movie.'”

Lohan first expressed her interest in the role back in 2017, sharing a side by side comparison photo of her and Ariel, but it seems that wasn’t enough to tempt Disney to get in touch.

“No,” said Lohan when asked whether she’d been approached by Disney about the role. “But I’m going to harass my agent about it after this.”

The Little Mermaid is to be directed by Rob Marshall (Mary Poppins Returns) from a script by Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass), and if rumours are to be believed the Mouse House is keen on Spider-Man: Homecoming and The Greatest Showman star Zendaya for the role of the Disney Princess.
