Live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arriving in 2028

December 2, 2025 by Matt Rodgers

Cowabunga readers! Paramount Pictures are once again lifting the manhole cover to bring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles back to the big-screen in a live-action outing dated for 2028.

Per The Hollywood Reporter the studio announced that they had set the date for what they’re calling an untitled hybrid live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles feature, with the heroes in a half shell hitting cinemas around the world on Nov. 17, 2028.

Produced by Neal H. Moritz, the driving force behind the Fast & Furious franchise, this new iteration of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s mutant crime-fighters will run concurrently with Jeff Rowe’s animated adaptation of the characters, with the sequel to his $180 million grossing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem set to land on Sept. 17, 2027.

This untitled turtle movie will be the third time Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael have been given a live-action outing following the iconic 90s trilogy, and the 2014 reboot, which promised much with the $485 million grossing original, before 2016’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows fell on its shell at the box-office and was unable to get up again.
