Ever since the movie was announced, there have been rumours circulating online that Warner Bros. Montreal were working on a Suicide Squad game that would be released to promote the movie. Despite several teases in their Arkham Origins and Arkham Origins Blackgate games, the game has now officially been cancelled.
“Executives at Warner Bros. decided to axe the Suicide Squad game earlier this month following a long period of turbulence at WB Montreal, according to three people familiar with the studio,” Kotaku’s sources told them. “The game, which would star DC Comics’ eponymous band of anti-heroes, had been in development for at least two years. ”
According to the site, the game has been cancelled so Warner Bros. Montreal can focus on a new Batman game featuring Damian Wayne.
