Lovecraftian survival horror The Order Of The Snake Scale arrives on Xbox

September 6, 2025 by Andrew Newton

FM Simple Games Studio and publisher Ultimate Games have announced the release of their Lovecraftian survival horror game, The Order Of The Snake Scale, on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. This partially open-world title blends combat, puzzles, and resource gathering with the visual style of a classic horror game.  The game has already been well-received on PC and will also be launching on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on 25th September.  Watch the new trailer below…

Inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, The Order Of The Snake Scale takes players to an alternate world, one where things aren’t quite right, and where dark themes cause a build up of some ancient primal fear. This alternate universe is a dystopian one where religion is banned, eugenics and the subjugation of humanity is carried out freely and without consequence.

Taking the role of a detective investigating the mysterious death of a woman in the town of Happy Rock, players will need to search the atmospheric, unique nooks and crannies of the town, and solve numerous logic puzzles that will lead them to discover the fate of the woman.

The Order Of The Snake Scale will have players trying to survive this doomed world by gathering resources, interacting with the environment and fighting the various monsters that call that world home.

This survival horror is available now on Xbox One and Series X|S now. Playstation  4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch gamers can look forward to the game’s release on 25th September.
